Homero Gómez González, who managed the El Rosario monarch butterfly reserve in Michoacan, Mexico, was murdered January 28/20. On February 3/20, reserve tour guide Raúl Hernández Romero was killed. Sixteen years ago, we made a documentary about the Monarch butterfly migration, and the reserve that these two environmental activists tragically lost their lives defending against illegal logging.
